Ayush Singhvi

Ayush Singhvi is Director at Byldd, which he started in 2020. Before Byldd, he spent years building products at early-stage companies, where he kept seeing non-technical founders pay too much for a first version that didn’t work or that the market didn’t want.

Ayush studied engineering at BITS Pilani and earned his master’s at NYU, where he is now an Entrepreneurship and Startup Advisor working with early-stage founders. Over the last few years he has also started investing in startups, and the companies below are the ones he has backed so far.

Ayush tends to back founders who know their problem better than anyone, usually because they’ve lived it. The first thing he looks for is someone paying for the product, even if the product is still small. The best companies he has seen go after something customers are currently solving with workarounds, and the founder has an earned secret about why that is. He also pays close attention to how a founder builds trust with customers and partners, because early growth runs on it. Most of his thinking here comes from his own experience as a founder and from working with founders at NYU, and that’s usually how he tries to be useful after he invests.
